Hello friends! I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas or is having a wonderful Kwanzaa! I can't believe my favorite holiday is over, but I'm extremely thankful for the memories I made during it. This years Christmas was very special, not because of the gifts I got, but because the people I spent it with; that's the best and most important part about the holidays. But, gifts are a part of the holidays too and if you've received a gift card or cash this holiday, I've put together a list of items I'm currently gushing over that hopefully you friends will enjoy as well. The truth is, though, I wont be spending my gift cards on any of these items, because I already used them to buy more contacts, and I forbid myself from doing any more shopping this winter unless the item is something I truly need. #Adulting & #I'm as blind as a bat. So, for now, I'll just be staring at these beautiful items on my computer screen instead. If you friends see something you love and buy it, let me know! Or let me know in the comments what you're buying for yourself now that Christmas is over.

Summer of 2018.. you've been sweet.

A lot has happened not just this summer, but over the last year. I've tried new things, such as...
⋄ Surfing, thanks to my adventurous best friend Ally. We surfed in early May in Newport when it was raining and freezing out and I loved (almost) every minute of it! I'm pretty sure I almost got caught in a rip tide though..
⋄ Escargot, thanks to my dear friend Tom Samet. We had it at Le Charlot, Southampton and it was delicious.
⋄ Rock climbing, again thanks to Ally.

Oh and I got a tattoo too.. Surprise! I don't have any good photos of it, but it's on my ribs on my right side and says "Siamo tutti angeli con una sola ala, possiamo volare solo se ci abbracciamo l'uno con l'altro." in script, which translates to "We are all angels with only one wing, we can fly only if we embrace each other." I've been thinking about this tattoo for about five years now, but never bit the bullet. A few months ago a family member of mine was going through a rough time and when he/she was coming out of that rough time, he/she wanted a tattoo for his/her own personal reasons and asked if I wanted to join and get one too. The reason I was debating that tattoo for years and never bit the bullet, was because although the quote is beautiful and means a lot to me, I wanted a tattoo with even more special, specific meaning. Now it has just that and I absolutely love it. I actually want one more, but I'm in no rush.

I've also gone on a few vacations..
⋄ Estero, FL visiting my grandparents
⋄ Ocean City, MD partying with friends
⋄ Montauk, NY celebrating my birthday with friends

And I've been making some changes in my life.
I've given myself a nice daily and weekly routine that'll keep me sane and happy. If I don't have some form of routine, I can get lost and feel like life is whizzing by me. It's rather simple and just includes giving myself the morning to do something I enjoy while drinking my coffee, whether that's reading a book or entering sweepstakes, which is a guilty pleasure of mine.🙈
It also includes stopping work at 6pm, unless I really have to or want to work past that time, practicing Italian, being more consistent with my skincare and haircare, having an at-home spa day on Sundays, and enjoying Netflix without feeling bad for just sitting down and watching TV. I'm also trying to ease up on myself when it comes to working out and eating healthy. Any form of exercise is better than none, and it's not the end of the world or a failure if I miss a day or two, or even a week. Also, I'll never restrict myself when it comes to food. Life is short, and I love healthy food and try to eat mostly real whole foods, but I also love a nice spicy fried chicken sandwich every once in a while and I shouldn't feel guilty or beat myself up afterwards. As Julia Roberts says in one of my favorite parts of one of my favorite movies,

"Let me ask you something, in all the years that you have...undressed in front of a gentleman has he ever asked you to leave? Has he ever walked out and left? No? It's because he doesn't care! He's in a room with a naked girl, he just won the lottery. I am so tired of saying no, waking up in the morning and recalling every single thing I ate the day before, counting every calorie I consumed so I know just how much self loathing to take into the shower. I'm going for it. I have no interest in being obese, I'm just through with the guilt. So this is what I'm going to do, I'm going to finish this pizza, and then we are going to go watch the soccer game, and tomorrow we are going to go on a little date and buy ourselves some bigger jeans."

When you're relaxed about something and don't hold yourself to such strict, often unrealistic, standards, and just let yourself enjoy life, you have a better chance of actually accomplishing the goals you want to accomplish. And my goals are just to be happy and healthy.

I've also been working on a bucket list. I've mentioned it briefly on Instagram that I have a long list of things I want to do before I turn 25. Here are a few of them..
  ⋄ Visit Greece
  ⋄ Travel across Europe
  ⋄ Become fluent in Italian
⋄ Road trip across the US
  ⋄ Go canoeing
  ⋄ Go parasailing
  ⋄ Water ski
  ⋄ Scuba dive
  ⋄ Snowboard
  ⋄ Ski
  ⋄ Learn sailing
⋄ Learn guitar (acoustic and electric)
  ⋄ Learn Krav Maga
  ⋄ Take kick boxing lessons
  ⋄ Start a YouTube channel
  ⋄ Go to Hawaii
  ⋄ Learn Hawaiin
  ⋄ Learn Greek
⋄ Learn how to make a camp fire
⋄ Go to a rock concert
⋄ Go to a country concert
  ⋄ See a waterfall
⋄ Go to Alaska and see the aurora borealis
  ⋄ Go on a safari
  ⋄ Take dance lessons
  ⋄ Zip line
  ⋄ Go to the opera
⋄ Sing karaoke at a karaoke bar
  ⋄ Take acting lessons
And can you believe I have more? But the rest are a bit personal. I'm not going to go broke or crazy trying to accomplish all of these before I'm 25, but I'm hopeful I'll be able to accomplish at least half or more. I know one item I will definitely be checking off next year though.. Traveling across Europe!💃 June 2019 I'll be traveling with my best friend across Greece (Mykonos), Italy (Amalfi Coast), France (Provence & Paris), England (London), and Ireland (Dublin), and I'm beyond excited. If you friends have any travel tips or favorite places, I'd love to know them!

I've also made some changes in my life regarding Hampton Ivy. I went through a period of feeling lost, overwhelmed, and insecure about my future and abilities. I managed to snap myself out of it, or really my mom helped me, and now I've given myself a nice routine and schedule that I believe will bring huge growth this fall and winter and next year. Routines, schedules, and lists are my saving grace in life. I have goals, but I've choosen to focus less on the end goals now and focus more on the steps to get there, with no pressure on when I get there. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that every successful entrepreneur I've listened to took almost 10 years of doing business before they became what others have perceived as "over night successes". As long as you hunker down and follow the steps you need to take to get there, you'll reach your goals when the time is right.

What you can expect from Hampton Ivy this fall and winter and 2019:
⋄ New product launches.. home decor, apparel
⋄ New releases.. more scarves, new jewelry
⋄ Locations near you.. we're partnering with more and more retail stores to carry our line
⋄ More fun! Newsletters, blog posts, events, show booths, giveaways, etc.

And I think that's all the updates I have! Do you friends have anything big and new going on in your lives or do you have anything on your bucket list you want to check off this year? If you're willing to share, comment them down below!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you friends have a wonderful day.

Spring Style with Brooks Brothers

by Hampton Ivy, 4/02/2018

Oh spring.. it feels like every time we get a little sense of it here in New York, Mother Nature swoops in and says "Just kidding! Here's some more snow. ;)". But never the less, it is technically spring and I'm determined to embrace the new season, even if Mother Nature wont! Brooks Brothers, one of my favorite brands for classic, preppy clothing, was extremely kind enough to send me three of their new arrivals for spring to style for you all.  I know you're going to love them!

Blue Gingham Shirt Dress // Bracelet // Necklace // Earrings (coming soon) // Sunglasses (similar: x, x, x, x) // Shoes (similar: x, x, x)

Top // Pants // Bracelet // Necklace // Earrings (coming soon) // Sunglasses (similar: xxxx) // Shoes (similar: xxx) // Similar Handbags: x, x, x

I'm absolutely in love with everything! The gingham dress is fitted and petite, so it's very flattering on my 5'1" frame. Plus, it's so precious with its gingham pattern and bow tie waste. The blue top and floral pants are also perfection. The pants are long for me, which is typical unless I buy petite pants, but can be folded under (like I did for these pictures) or hemmed. They're perfect for spring weather. And this shirt? I want it in so many more colors! It is so, so comfortable and soft and the bateau neckline is my favorite part. I couldn't be happier with the quality and the fit of these pieces. As usual, Brooks Brothers doesn't disappoint!

Other beautiful new arrivals from Brooks Brothers:

Spring weather will be here soon enough, and when it is, I know I'll be wearing these pieces again and again! Thank you friends so much for reading! I'd love to know, does it feel like spring where you live, or are you still getting snow like we are? Hopefully the former!

It doesn't matter what season it is, if I'm looking for an easy outfit, I'll always look to see what dresses I own. And when it's winter, I'm obsessed with finding sweater dresses, because they're really the best of both worlds- comfort and ease. The only difficulty with dresses is styling them so it doesn't feel like you're wearing the same outfit every time you re-wear one of them. So, I've figured out a few different ways to style a sweater dress to help solve that issue! (All of the items I'm wearing will be linked at the bottom of this post.)

A simple cashmere scarf and pumps. A long scarf of contrasting color adds just the right touch to this dress. The scarf plus the heels also help elongate my frame and prevent the dress from looking unflattering, since it's a bit too long and unfitted on me to wear by itself. These leopard patterned heels also add just the right amount of character to the outfit. It's simple and chic, and perfect for dressy occasions.

A skinny belt and loafers. Need a solution to a dress that's not fitted and a touch too long? Add a belt! And when I added a belt to this dress, I could then get away with wearing flat shoes. The belt and loafers make this outfit casual and cute, and the headband also adds a fun pop of pattern and youth. It's the perfect outfit for lunch or any daytime activity.

A vest and otk boots. Over-the-knee boots have been trending for the past two years, and I'm loving it! They elongate your legs and I've yet to see anyone who they don't look flattering on. The sweater dress alone with the boots still needed something extra though, and this vest worked perfectly. It not only adds a bit of color and texture to this outfit, but it also helps add shape since it's just the right length and slightly fitted. This outfit is perfect for nights out.

A sweater and riding boots. A sweater over a sweater? Yes, definitely! Layering is not only great for staying warm but it's also an easy way to make an outfit more unique. This casual outfit would be perfect for relaxed days out about town or cozy evenings.

And those are my four ways to style a sweater dress! I hope these outfit ideas help you friends next time you're figuring out what to wear or how to style a sweater dress you own. If you have a favorite way to style a sweater dress, I'd love to know! Feel free to share it in the comments below.

Some people love the day, some people .. not so much. But whether you're in a relationship or not, you can still celebrate and have an absolutely wonderful Valentine's Day. It's a day of love and appreciation, and you can show that to yourself, your closest friends, your family, or whoever else you want. Of course, everyday should involve self love and appreciation to others you care about in your life, but sometimes we forget or get distracted. So, let's use this holiday to remind each other that we are all loved and appreciated.

Spoil Yourself

I have a few favorite spoil yourself ideas that I swear by!

A bath is of course my first recommendation. There are two bath "recipes" I love..
To Rejuvenate/Relax: Epsom Salt + essential oil of choice (I love citrus oils or chamomile)
To Exfoliate & Hydrate: 1 c. Organic unsweetened full-fat coconut milk + 1 tbsp honey

My second recommendation would be using a face mask and hair mask, which you can do while taking your bath. I'll list some of my favorites below!

My third recommendation? Put on your comfiest and cutest robe or pajamas. What could be better than both being super cozy and looking really cute?!

My fourth recommendation: Paint your nails! We all get busy and if you're like me, your nails are the last thing you think about. But when you finally get around to giving yourself a mani-pedi, it feels great! Even if you choose just a clear coat of polish at the end, it still looks just that- polished.

Lastly, curl up with a glass of wine or hot tea, and finally watch that movie that you've been meaning to watch or read that book you've been meaning to read. Or, watch your favorite movie again! There are so many cute movies to watch on Valentine's Day.

Epsom salt: Coconut Oil, Pink Himalayan
Essential oil: Tangerine, Grapefruit, Chamomile

Buy for your Galentine!

You can buy any of the items I shared above to spoil yourself, or you can buy one or a few as a Valentine's Day gift for a friend too! I've also put together a list below of a few more cute gift ideas for your gal pals that I'm sure they'd love!

Or give your Galentine a box of amazing but affordable wine, delivered right to her doorstep! I've been subscribed to Winc for a few months now and absolutely love it. It's completely expanded my palate and opened my mind to new wines and flavors. And when you use my link you'll get $20 off your first box! Actually, you can use the $20 on a box for yourself and then send your friend a free box. Click my link or any of the three images below to find out more.

I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day! Feel free to share your plans for this February 14th and your favorite way to spend the day in the comments below!

If I made a list of the top five questions I get asked most often, "what skincare products do you use?" would surprisingly be one of them. I've never really found products that I considered my "holy grail" skincare products before, until this year. You'll see some of the products I use I enjoy, but probably wont keep in my routine forever, while other products I don't think I'll ever stop using- they're that good. Keep on reading to see what's in my routine, which products are great and which are amazing!

A little background about my skin: When I was younger I had minor acne, 100% due to my bad skincare routine, and then a few years ago I suffered from bad breakouts again, definitely due to my diet and trying too many cheap products, and then I also got perioral dermatitis
After a while of trial and error, I've finally found products that made my skin issues go away and that I now swear by. Of course I still break out occasionally and get a few dry patches, but these products have helped keep both of those issues under control.

(P.S. If you're wondering what helped my perioral dermatitis, it was cutting out cinnamon in my diet, sulfates in my products, flouride in my toothpaste, and treating the affected area with calendula ointment and no other moisturizer. I only did all of those things temporarily until my perioral dermatitis went away. I had it in 2015 and it's only come back once since, last year, no where near as bad as it was the first time, and it went away even sooner because I followed that routine again.)

Also, friendly reminder.. It's not just what you put on your skin that affects it's appearance. What you eat, the weather, and the time of the month play a part in it as well. The latter two we can't really control, but the first one we can. So make sure to get some nice vitamins and nutrients in you diet and lots of water!

Now, finally, onto my routine!

Every morning I put about 4 drops of maracuja oil and a pump and a half of my CeraVe moisturizer in my hand and apply the combination of the two to my face. The two together make the most beautiful pair, leaving my skin so soft, hydrated, moisturized and glowing. I seriously can't imagine my skincare routine without these two products.
I then apply my Clinique eye cream. I've actually seen a difference since using this; my eyes are less puffy, there are less fine lines, and my dark circles have dramatically lightened. Because of all that, I'd repurchase it, but I'm also still interested in trying new eye creams.

Other mornings:

Other mornings, I'll use these two items (plus the eye cream still). If I choose to use this vitamin c serum, I need to then use a moisturizer with SPF, because the serum has hyaluronic acid in it. I notice my skin is a little brighter and maybe my fine lines (on my forehead, between my brows, and my smile lines) have slightly become less noticeable, but I wouldn't say this serum is a must have.
(To be honest, I bought it because Shakira said she uses a vitamin c serum.. Hey, Shakira looks amazing and if she says it's thanks to a certain product, it's worth a shot!)
This Olay moisturizer, on the other hand, is a must have. It's a little heavy and gives you a white cast when you first apply it, but after a minute it melts into your skin and the heaviness and white cast go away. It's very rare I find a moisturizer with SPF that I like, so I'll definitely be buying this one again!

When it's nighttime, I go for these richer products, but I only use them maybe three times a week.
I've been using the Clinique Smart Night moisturizer for a little while now, and I really like it. It's a thicker cream that really moisturizers my skin, I have no complaints about it, but just like the Clinique eye cream, I'd be open to trying new night creams.
For when I have an occasional breakout, this treatment by Paula's Choice is fantastic. I put a dot of it right onto my blemish and it either dries it up to nothing or it helps bring it to the surface so I can get rid of it. The amount of product in this tube is also insane. I'd say I'd repurchase it, but I don't think I'll ever be able to even use it all!
My last item for nighttime is this very, very rich lip and eye cream by The Organic Pharmacy. Occasionally my eye area gets really dry and flaky and needs something heavier than the Clinique eye cream. This does wonders. It also does wonders for my dry patches, which I get around my mouth and chin. I'll definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.

I've had a hard time finding a cleanser that really cleans my skin, but doesn't completely suck the life and moisture out of it. This one by CeraVe is fantastic. I use it with a konjac sponge to gently exfoliate my face. I'm sure these two products will be in my routine forever.

Other cleansers:

On days when I want either a gentler cleanse or when I want to get my makeup off before I use my CeraVe cleanser, I use the Simple micellar water with exfoliating cotton rounds or the Simple cleansing wipes. I trust the Simple brand and their products work really well and never irritate my skin.

I use a face mask once, sometimes even twice, a week. I've learned the hard way that cheap masks do more harm than good. I'm now very picky when it comes to face masks, and these three have not let me down. They all help clear my skin up and bring it back to life after a long week. I highly, highly recommend them.

Honorable mentions:

Thayers Witch Hazel
Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner

Thayers Witch Hazel is amazing for keeping your skin clean and hydrated. I haven't used it for a while and I need to repurchase it ASAP. It's a miracle worker for getting rid of blackheads, keeping blemishes away, and minimizing enlarged poors.
Aerin's rose lip conditioner is also a fantastic lip balm and keeps your lips moisturized for hours. It's pretty pricey, so I save it for those days when my lips really need it, when lip balm just wont do the trick.

And those are the products in my skincare routine! It seems sort of lengthy, but every product is worth it. I also want to give a friendly shout out to beautypedia.com, because their ratings and recommendations are how I found 90% of the items in my routine and how I decide which items I'll try next.
What're your favorite skincare products? And if you try or already love any of the products I mentioned, let me know in the comments below!
