Week in New England2:24 PM
“Every person needs to take one day away. A day in which one consciously separates the past from the future... Each person deserves a day away in which no problems are confronted, no solutions searched for. Each of us needs to withdraw from the cares which will not withdraw from us.” - Maya Angelou
Normally when I talk about taking vacations, it involves taking a day off at home to decompress and give yourself a break. This time I was lucky enough to take almost a week off and have a girls trip with my mom, aunt, and grandma to visit the beautiful New England.
Forewarning, there are quite a lot of photos!
The first day was a calm one. In the afternoon we took the ferry from Orient Point to New London. From there we were on our way to Mystic! We settled in and relaxed, then finished off the day at S&P Oyster Co. The Oysters Rockefeller, filet mignon, and creme brulee there were amazing!
The first half of the day was spent exploring Mystic and, of course, doing a little shopping! After buying a few little things, we made our way through town to Mystic Pizza, where we split the small house special. I'm happy to say it wasn't over hyped and was actually really, really delicious. I would definitely recommend it and, honestly, I wish I could have it everyday!
The second half of the day we spent at the iconic Ocean House. I'm sure I'm not alone if I said I could live here forever. We had drinks on the deck and dinner in the bistro. I had the delicata squash risotto and picked at some of my mom and aunt's filet mignons and truffle fries. Again, everything was absolutely delicious.
